New Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) option coming soon

Starting mid to late March, you鈥檒l be able to use an authentication app for multi-factor authentication (MFA) when logging in to the ob体育 Regulatory Portal.

Currently, all MFA is completed using email, which will remain the default option, but you鈥檒l be able to opt in to using an authentication app if preferred from March.

An authentication app provides a seamless and secure log in experience, offering instant access with enhanced protection.

You鈥檒l only need to authenticate using one method, but both options will be available.

To ensure a smooth log in experience, please make sure:

  • Your email address (username) is up to date: and check your email address is up to date under 鈥楳y details鈥�. This will ensure you receive the one-time code sent via email for MFA.
  • You access the portal as yourself using your personal account: make sure you always log in as yourself and access the portal using your personal account, as required under the ob体育 Regulatory Portal: User Agreement.

Coming soon 鈥� improved ob体育 Professional Registers Search听

In December 2024, we launched the new The successful launch replaced the PRS service previously available through ob体育 Connect.

鈥婭n March 2025, we鈥檒l further simplify and improve the purchase of documents and extracts by integrating an embedded payment service, which will allow for easier and more efficient searches.

To support this change, we鈥檒l make some updates to the ob体育 website, including a new user guide.

Registered agents ceasing to act as the agent of a company

As a registered agent, you have an obligation under the Registered Agent Term & Conditions to complete certain steps if you cease to act as a company's agent.

Step 1 鈥� If your address is the registered office for the company, you must either seek authorisation from the company to lodge a change to the registered office address with ob体育 or notify ob体育 in writing that you withdraw consent for your premises to be the registered office.

Step 2 - If you have authorisation from the company - lodge Form 362 Notification by a company to nominate or cease a registered agent or contact address, or if you do not have authorisation from the company - lodge a Form 361 Notification of a registered agent ceasing to act for a company.
