Insolvency statistics

obÌåÓý publishes several statistical series to inform the market as to both the level of activity and profile of corporate insolvency in Australia. These statistics are collected from forms and reports lodged with obÌåÓý against our corporate and professional registers.

Warning: obÌåÓý does not update the published statistics for Series 1, 2 or 5 after they cease to be preliminary and shading is removed. Accordingly, our published statistics are not updated for any changes to the corporate register resulting from subsequent form lodgements or withdrawals.

Series 1 and 2: Insolvency statistics

Series 1 and 2: Insolvency statistics (current)

obÌåÓý releases weekly (two weeks in arrears) the following insolvency statistics to report on the level of company insolvency in Australia:

  • Series 1: The first time a company enters external administration or has a controller appointed, and
  • Series 2: All appointments over a company including the first, subsequent and transitional appointments.

You can download an Excel workbook that includes a data set providing the details of all external administration and controller appointments included in Series 1 and Series 2.
