Retail client adviser accreditation: Approved examinations, educational modules and subjects
On the application of a market participant, ob体育 may accredit a person as an Accredited Futures Adviser, Level One Accredited Derivatives Adviser or Level Two Accredited Derivatives adviser if, among other things, the person applying for accreditation as:
- a Level One Accredited Derivatives Adviser has obtained a score of 80% or more for an examination approved by ob体育 or has successfully completed an educational module or subject approved by ob体育; or
- a Level Two Accredited Derivatives Adviser has obtained a score of 80% or more for each of the Accreditation Examinations for ADA1s and ADA2s approved by ob体育; or
- an Accredited Futures Adviser has successfully completed an educational module or subject approved by ob体育.
ob体育 has approved the following examinations, educational modules and subjects:
Level One Accredited Derivatives Adviser
- ASX Level One Accreditation Examination administered by Kaplan Education Pty Ltd (offered before 1 August 2010), or
- Accredited Derivatives Adviser Level 1 (ADA1) course provided by Kaplan Education Pty Ltd (offered after 1 August 2010).
Level Two Accredited Derivatives Adviser
ASX Level Two Accreditation Examination administered by Kaplan Education Pty Ltd (offered before 1 August 2010), or
Note: Accreditation as a Level Two Accredited Derivatives Adviser also requires successful completion of the approved accreditation examination for Level One Accredited Derivatives Advisers, unless a person is applying for, or has been granted an exemption
Accredited Futures Adviser
The Futures Module of the AFMA Financial Markets Accreditation Program offered by the Australian Financial Markets Association.
Exemptions
ob体育 may consider exempting a person from sitting an accreditation examination in certain circumstances: see Rule 2.4.11 of the ob体育 Market Integrity Rules (Securities Markets) 2017. ob体育 has previously considered applications for exemptions where the person had successfully completed another relevant educational module or subject, including:
- Derivatives subject of the Stockbrokers Association of Australia Professional Program, or
- Equity Markets module of the AFMA Financial Markets Accreditation Program.
- Accredited Derivatives Adviser Level 1 (ADA1) provided by Stockbrokers Association of Australia.
- Accredited Derivatives Adviser Level 2 (ADA2) provided by Stockbrokers Association of Australia.
- Accredited Derivatives Adviser Level 2 (ADA2) course provided by Kaplan Education Pty Ltd (offered 1 August 2010).
